Quality Digital Printing
Digital printing is cost effective for short runs, variable data printing and direct mail - but we have always considered environmental credentials, quality and cost effectiveness to be of vital importance.
Our digital press was been chosen because it is the first and only machine that meets our criteria and is worthy to sit alongside our state of the art B2 and B3 conventional printing presses. With regards to print quality, colour calibration and compatibility with the range of papers we require to be printed it scores on all counts.
Digital Printing on FSC and Recycled Papers
Digital presses have largely relied on the use of manufacturers "approved papers" and until now this has excluded printing on the carefully chosen FSC and Recycled Papers we use on our conventional printing presses.
The Konica Minolta bizhub PRO C6500 removes such restrictions and performs exceptionally well with our chosen papers such as Revive Recycled and Regency FSC Certified Silk. Additionally, new digital specific papers are being introduced to the market and the majority of them come with FSC certificates - which allows us to update our range of products, such as the new gloss posters we now feature.
Simitri ® - Eco Friendly Digital Toner
A grey area when it comes to digital printing has always been the eco-credentials of the toners or ink employed. Especially when compared to the alcohol free running and organic vegetable oil based inks used on our conventional litho printing presses.
The next generation toner from industry leader Konica Minolta changes that. Produced by polymerisation rather than the conventional kneading or pulverizing method, Simitri Toner production achieves:
- A reduction in Greenhouse Gas emission of 32% for carbon dioxide and 40% for nitrogen oxide.
- A reduction in sulphur dioxide emission reduction, a cause of "acid rain", by 42%
Furthermore, Simitri technology requires less toner to be applied to the paper and oil free fusing is achieved at lower temperatures. This significantly reduces the power consumption of the Konica Minolta bizhub PRO C6500 digital printer compared to competitors technology, whilst delivering exceptional print quality.
