The answers to your questions

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions about our services at A Local Printer. You may also want to look at our Environmental Information and FAQ which talks about all things eco.

I need to talk to a Real Person!

We totally agree; alocalprinter.com is all about people dealing with people - just as we have always done for over 30 years now!

This website was created to make the process of choosing and buying eco friendly printing easier, so you now have the ability to choose and order your job, upload your artwork, then put your feet up and wait for delivery!

Equally you can pick up the telephone and talk to a real person - the choice is yours and we would love to hear from you. If you need to see someone please ask, we will arrange an appointment at your place or ours. Tel: 01903 742003

Delivery

The delivery lead time for all of our products is published on each product page.  As a rule of thumb it is up to 5 working days to dispatch from proof approval with the exception of Brochures and Presentation Folders which take 5-7 working days to dispatch from proof approval. We always endeavour to improve upon these times and guarantee that we will never take longer!

All of our deliveries are made by a national courier company on a next day delivery basis - unless delivery is to RoI, Northern Ireland, Highlands and Islands which are on two day services.  Delivery is included in our published prices, but for our customers in Northern Ireland, RoI, Highlands and Islands we are sorry but there will be additional charges. Please contact us for delivery costs via email to info@alocalprinter.com or on 01903 742003.

What about the Quality?

The short answer is we are committed to delivering great products at fantastic prices!

We have invested nearly £2 million in best-in-class printing technology. All this adds up to exceptional quality produced with maximum efficiency.

For example, we can produce 20 sets of business cards in about 20 minutes or 10,000 A4 letterheads in half an hour and we simply pass the cost savings achieved by this efficiency directly to our customers without compromising on quality.

All of the products you see on this site are produced in-house at our modern production site in West Sussex.

What is Full Colour Printing?

Full colour printing is also referred to as process colour, 4 colour process or CMYK (which is short for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black). These terms all mean the same thing.

Full colour printing uses these four ink colours to reproduce literally millions of different colours and shades.

Think of it as the printing equivalent to the way a television or digital camera works. A television or digital camera uses the 3 primary colours of Red, Green and Blue - RGB - to produce millions of colours, and in printing we use the secondary colours which are cyan, magenta and yellow plus black to add contrast - CMYK - to do the same thing.

For a detailed explanation have a look at our Full Colour Printing page

What is Spot Colour Printing?

Spot colour printing is also known a 1, 2, 3 or more colour printing using colours defined as Pantone ® colours. Each of these pantone colours is printed separately using ink specially pre-mixed to the exact shade, rather than having the colour made up out of the 4 process colours. The most common need for spot colours is for Corporate Stationery which we offer online too.

Is Your Printing Digital ?

The majority of our products are printed using conventional Full Colour Litho Printing but for shorter runs we use Digital Printing to ensure you get the best price for your project. The litho and digital price is shown on each Printing Price List for your convenience.

Do You Have Any Templates?

Yes we do!  We have cutter guides available for our Presentation Folders via this link.
