Smile for the Camera - Meet the Team at A Local Printer!
" I ask people why they have deer heads on their walls. They say it is because it is such a beautiful animal. There you go. I think my mother is attractive but I have photographs of her."
Ellen DeGeneres

Ray Burn - Managing Directoralocalprinter.com was acquired by Ray in 2003 following 16 years with a £250 million print group developing their print management strategy plus negotiating, implementing and managing multi-million pound print contracts. Ray enjoys watching Chelsea, drinking wine, eating take-away food (anything the wife hasn't cooked basically), Chiquitita by Abba (sad) and upgrading his stereo system! He also runs a free Business Forum for Business Advice, Support and Chat |

Jeff Morris - Creative DirectorJeff has spent the last quarter of a century working at alocalprinter.com in all of its various guises. Fully conversant in pre-press Jeff has developed the studio to the state of the art facility we have today. The player/manager for Lower Beeding Football Club and holding down the position of striker Jeff has over 100 goals to his name. Other than playing football Jeff likes nothing more than indulging his past-time of dangerous sports, including sky diving and off-piste skiing. If marooned on a desert island Jeff would be happy to share his palm tree with Catherine Zeta Jones and Jenny Agutter circa 1980. |

Miranda Burn - Business Development DirectorThe most recent addition to the management team Miranda has 15 years experience of print marketing and business development with major national print companies. Spare time activities include cooking exotic and enticing meals for her husband (brussel sprout soup is a particular favourite), hunting out shoe bargains in the High Street, watching CSI and the occasional foray into the gym. If marooned on a desert island Miranda would like the entire Sunseeker boat building team to share her patch of sand. |

Linda Buchanan - Finance DirectorLinda has been with the company since 2004 and in addition to her accountancy role has wholeheartedly entered in to the area of print solutions. Known to many of our customers as the (very loud) public voice of alocalprinter.com, Lin has also been know to demonstrate her pole dancing techniques during the occasional quiet moment. Lin has three young boys and a hubby to keep her more than busy at home and last year, despite our protestations, invested in a caravan for family holidays. She is still practicing reversing. Hobbies are mainly liquid based - swimming and drinking (hopefully she won't get them mixed up!). As a cautionary note, if it is not nailed down she will sell it on ebay. |

Owen Matthews - Production DirectorOwen is the print genius of Billingshurst; a small village in Sussex - population of 4. Outside of this village, nobody has heard of him. But seriously; he has over 20 years experience managing printing machines small and large and we are lucky to have him. His back has been poorly lately - ouch - but a recent operation has put him vertical again. So no more sleeping under the desk - please? Unlike his dad, his young lad is very good at football - you heard it here first! |

Andy Simon - Artwork and DesignOur most recent addition to the company, Andy works in the studio - taking skiing tips from Jeff and swapping curry recipes. An out an out curry fanatic Andy would nominate culinary curry queen Madhur Jaffrey to share his desert island - which I recommend we all keep well clear of for obvious reasons! Andy likes nothing more than trying out new curry recipes on his (long suffering) girlfriend, socialising with chums, dabbling with football, cycling and supporting Liverpool. |

Andy Fielder - Senior Machine MinderAndy has been with the company for a jaw dropping 25 years and now takes responsibility for running our print area. In addition to machine minding Andy can run all our finishing equipment as well! When not practicing his John Travolta impersonation (seen left as Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever) Andy spends whatever spare time he has coarse fishing - his best catch to date is a 2.5lb roach caught in the local River Arun (doesn't sound like a big deal but apparently it is!). Jane Seymour, circa 1980's, is Andy's choice for palm tree duty, although his favourite film is Predator............ |

Roger Weetman - Warehouse and Finishing ManagerRoger has been working at the company for over 20 years and is responsible for the management of raw materials and finished product - plus ensuring each job reaches the right delivery destination! A very keen fisherman there is some talk that Roger has webbed feet, but I've not seen them so can't comment. If marooned on a desert island Roger would make room under his palm tree for Liv Tyler and Rachel Weisz. What a nice, kind chap he is. |

Nick Ellis - Machine MinderIn addition to his printing role Nick is also the company Amicus representative acting on behalf of his colleagues. Spare time activities include renovating a cottage in France, playing badminton, member of a pub quiz team helping out backstage at rock and pop concerts and learning to kayak............ phew!!! |

Scott Beadell - Machine MinderAlthough our youngest minder at 27, Scott has been with the company for 11 years. Joining straight from school as an apprentice he is a natural in front of the press. His knowledge and experience belie his age and he already has an award for his printing skills tucked under his belt! A keen Crystal Palace supporter Scott keeps everyone up to speed with regards to the footie results. Spare time activities extend to backpacking around wild and exotic locations like Thailand, Australia and Horsham. |

Ged Thurston - FinishingWith the most dextrous fingers in the south Ged undertakes the challenges of the finishing department and with over 20 years experience is one of our most loyal employees. Ged has 3 grand children and is a soccer supporting nan, cheering on the two eldest who play for the Sussex Under 15's Womens League. A self confessed Big Brother 'maniac' if Ged was ever marooned on a desert island Brad Pitt would hopefully be on hand wafting his palm fronds to take her mind off the BB inmates. |

Lennie Burn - Newshound and Guard DogLennie joined the company with Ray in 2003 and has been making a nuisance of himself since then. He can't type, answer the 'phone or make tea and is asleep most of the time - so his guard dog skills are also questionable. However, we all love him and so he is allowed to stay. In his spare time (which he seems to have an awful lot of) Lennie likes to dream about sausages and chasing pigeons, playing football and - since suffering a spinal injury in March 2006 - going for a run in his special wheelchair with his ears flapping in the wind. (Editor update: who needs the wheelchair? I'm walking again now) Cool! |
